Excellence, Friendship and Respect are the three core values of Olympism. They are the foundation on which the Olympic Movement builds its activities to promote sport, culture and education with a view to building a better world.
Excellence – doing the best we can, on the field of play or in our professional life. The important thing is not winning, but taking part. Not everyone can become an Olympic athlete but we can all set goals and work hard to be the best that we can be.
Friendship – encouraging us to see that sport can bring mutual understanding between individuals, and between people all over the world.
Respect – for yourself, your body and others; for rules and regulations; for sport and the environment.
